5. Nikola Vucevic

A surprising addition to this list you might think, especially with many feeling Nikola Vucevic’s time with the franchise is already up. In fact, the only thing holding him back from likely being moved before the February trade deadline is the fact he broke a bone in his hand just before Christmas.

We already know what kind of player Vucevic is and he isn’t going to get a whole lot better or diversify his game all that much.

He’s offensively gifted but doesn’t contribute at all defensively. It is just kind of strange how the center’s reputation has soured with fans, to the point many want him gone.

He did carry the team through the post-Dwight Howard era when he had no help around him, averaging a double-double in four of the five seasons preceding this one.

You could argue he’s a bad team, good stats kind of player, but really Vucevic has had precious little to work with for most of his time on the team.

The fear here is that he goes to another team and becomes what appears to be his destiny in this league: a high level sixth man who is a legit offensive threat both inside and outside of the paint. What would make this even worse is if the Magic begin to rise up the rankings once more with a core of Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac and their upcoming lottery pick.

That would be the moment a high level sixth man would come in handy, and to see Vucevic putting up double-doubles nightly in another uniform wouldn’t be ideal.

This is a low-level haunting, but also one that is far more likely than the fans who want him gone realize.
