1. He is playing looser and freer than ever before

Despite being known as a deft mid-range shooter throughout his career, Paul has shown the ability to punish teams from beyond the arc as of late, while playing looser than ever before.

Through 13 games, Paul is shooting a career-best 43.4 percent from 3-point range for Houston this season — and currently owns the league’s best assist to pass percentage among qualified players, as the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year appears to be fully adjusted to life with the Rockets.

"“It’s cool. The court is open.” Paul told ESPN‘s Tim McMahon following the Rockets’ win against the Hornets Wednesday night. “It’s almost like when I hoop during the summer and stuff like that…I’ve got shooters everywhere.”"

Over the last three games, Paul has averaged 26.3 points, 8.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Rockets, shooting 53.8 percent from the field.

For the first time in his career, Paul appears to be apart of an team that is fully tailored to his overall needs, as he finally has all of the pieces — including the perfect backcourt partner-in-crime — to compete for a championship.
