It looks like there’s been a shift atop this week’s Rookie of the Year ladder after another big week of performances. See who’s No. 1 now.

Another week has come and gone in the NBA season and it looks like some rookies are finding their bearings on their respective teams. The Chicago Bulls are on a four-game winning streak, while the Philadelphia 76ers recently snapped a four-game losing streak. Rookie Lauri Markkanen has found his groove in the Bulls’ rotation. Ben Simmons is getting every team’s best game and in some cases, the Sixers have failed to pull out a victory.

While the MVP race is looking like it will be a neck-and-neck affair, the top of the ladder has been pretty consistent. The top five have set themselves apart from the rest of the pack, but even then, there’s always a shift among them for the top spot.

The Rookie of the Year race may be Ben Simmons’ to lose, but he’s got plenty of competition surrounding him this season. A lot of critics argue Simmons isn’t a rookie but until you play an NBA game, you’re a rookie. Just ask 25-year-old Sacramento Kings rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic or 27-year-old Phoenix Suns point guard Mike James. Either way, this week’s No. 1 player isn’t Simmons, so the Week 9 edition of the ladder is certainly worth a look.
