2. Wizards vs. Cleveland Cavaliers — Dec. 17

Consider the Wizards’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers a tuneup game before their matchup in Beantown, but Cleveland isn’t a team to sleep on in the month of December. The Cavaliers have won 11 straight games and counting since getting their season off to a 5-7 start.

LeBron James has taken no prisoners in the last month or so and it’s showed with his stat line. James is averaging 27.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals per game during the Cavs’ winning streak while shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from 3-point range in the same span. He’s been his usual spectacular self and the rest of the team has followed in his footsteps. James has eight double-doubles and a triple-double so far for the 16-7 Cavaliers.

The Wizards have fallen once already to the Cavs 130-122 on Nov. 3, but this game becomes important for Cleveland in regards to the status of Isaiah Thomas. Thomas is set to return sometime in December, putting a possible return to the lineup on the table here. Wall should be back in the lineup for Washington as the team looks take over the title of best in the East.
