Thabo Sefolosha

With the absence of Joe Johnson (wrist) and Dante Exum (shoulder) coming off the bench for Utah, Thabo Sefolosha has had to step up for the Jazz early on this season. So far, he’s off to one of the best starts in the last five years of his career. Although his minutes are down this year compared to last year, Sefolosha is having a very productive year.

Through 17 games, Sefolosha is averaging 7.5 points, his highest total since the 2012-13 season, and has tallied 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game, which are the best marks since 2009-10. He is also shooting a career-high 43.8 percent from 3-point range and 50 percent from the field, the second-best of his career.

The 12-year, 33-year-old veteran wing could be a valuable piece on a contending team down the stretch of the season, but could also be a nice addition in a trade package containing one of the players on the slides previous.

Another appealing thing about Sefolosha, along with his play so far this season, is his contract. Sefolosha has two years left on his deal (which includes this season) at just over $5 million a year.
