Rodney Hood

This move would be the biggest move of the season for the Jazz outside of trading Rudy Gobert or Ricky Rubio. Hood has been one of the best players for Utah this season, leading the team with 17.4 points per game in a mix of coming off the bench and starting.

Hood, a 25-year-old in his fourth season in the NBA, is entering his final year of his rookie contract with Utah. Following this season, the Jazz will have to make a decision on what they want to do with Hood, much like they will be forced to do with a handful of players on their roster.

An interesting aspect to Hood continuing to stick around in Utah is the quick development of rookie Donovan Mitchell. Both Hood and Mitchell play virtually the same position, which could make things tough for them to co-exist moving forward.

If that is indeed the case, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Utah look for possible landing spots for Hood this season, potentially packaging him in a deal to bring a solid piece in return to Utah.
