Coming out of the gates with a 16-2 record, the Boston Celtics look as if they can’t be beaten. When the trade deadline arrives on Feb. 8, Boston should not make any moves.

The old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is the exact message the Boston Celtics should be sending out. Unless blown away by an amazing trade, there is no need to trade away anyone, or anything.

Adding a player, or sending something out, could possibly ruin the team’s rhythm and chemistry. The Celtics currently have the best record in the NBA, so what is there to fix? Maybe there is a want for a specific thing, but there is not a need — unless of course the ship somehow takes a hard left turn.

The Celtics almost saw their first loss since Oct. 18 against the Dallas Mavericks — a game in which they never even should have been that close or even been forced to overtime, but it is the bad teams you need to watch out for with such a long win streak taking centerstage each night.

Anyways, each season the Golden State Warriors stick to their blueprint, and that is to not ruin or add anything to their mixture. Why would they? It’s not like they are losing or lack talent.

More from Boston Celtics

The Celtics are not losing (for now), but it would seem hard to keep this win/loss ratio the rest of the season. Still, this team is too talented to fall out of the top three in the Eastern Conference. Right now everyone is firing on all cylinders, and they all understand what they need to do to win games. That’s what every team hopes to get out of its players.

Jaylen Brown continues to show improvement, fitting himself as one of the best players on this squad. Jayson Tatum shows why he could possibly be Rookie of the Year. Kyrie Irving is making big strides on the defensive side of things, and ensuring the team wins. Al Horford holds the fort down, doing all the little things on both sides of the ball.

Their bench comes in and brings great help when the starters are resting. According to NBA.com, the Celtics’ bench ranks 21st in offensive rating, but No. 1 in defensive rating. They rank fifth in net rating. With the bench showing that they are the kings on defense, there is no issue with how they are scoring the ball.

Right now the Celtics should not be looking to add or send out anyone, unless they are blown away by an offer. If they can continue to play well together, it would come as no shock if they were in the NBA Finals this postseason.
