Tyler Johnson ($4,400)

Ever since Tyler Johnson’s huge contract extension, he’s been a bit of a disappointment from a production standpoint. Even when the Miami Heat played well towards the end of last year, Johnson wasn’t posting the greatest of numbers. Even though Johnson hasn’t made the leap the Heat hoped he would, he may be a player to pick up for daily fantasy due to his large amount of minutes.

Over the past three games Johnson has averaged 32.5 minutes per game. That’s a lot of time to be productive on the court. During that stint, he hasn’t necessarily shot the ball well, which is why his numbers haven’t been that impressive fantasy-wise. But Johnson is a low-risk pick because of how well he fills out the stat sheet. Johnson consistently gets higher rebound and block numbers than the average guard.

He’s also known to take a large amount of 3-pointers, making him a player who has a chance to explode on any given night. But the biggest thing Johnson has going for him tonight is his matchup. In recent games, the Washington Wizards have given up big numbers to backup guards. Both Marco Belinelli and Jordan Clarkson put up great numbers against the Wizards bench unit.

Look for Johnson’s combination of big minutes and a good matchup to make him a fantasy standout.
