Offensive execution

Goran Dragic leading the way with Tyler Johnson off the bench. Josh Richardson jumping in at the 2 with an improved Justise Winslow also switching gears back and forth. It honestly sounds like a fast unit, one that could be great on fast breaks and can display an innovative transition game.

Solid shooters with great ball-handling almost always makes for an excellent combination.

Reality:

Is there such a thing as too fast? Because the Heat are the kings of that. They don’t know where their teammates are at and come out guns-a-blazin’ before really knowing the end result. That’s a recipe for disaster and honestly, it has been. Too many passes. Not enough passes. Are these really the plays?

Miami ranks 24th in the league with an offensive rating of 100.5, so clearly all that versatility isn’t clicking yet. Part of the reason might be the Heat’s 3-point shooting, which currently stands at a middling 35.7 percent.

On offense, they seem just lost and confused. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still a playoff-caliber team, just not this year, or at least not until some major changes are made to correct this ghastly execution.
