2. Philadelphia 76ers

If Nikola Mirotic has a desire to become a part of “The Process,” then the Bulls find themselves engaged with a very compatible trading partner. With over $15 million in cap space, the Philadelphia 76ers are in great position to take on Mirotic’s contract and move a piece that has struggled to find a role in the process (no pun intended).

Mirotic would add another 3-point threat to a Philly team that already ranks third in that category with 12.1 made 3s per game. It is an offense that looks more and more dangerous every game with Rookie of the Year frontrunner Ben Simmons at the helm and center Joel Embiid dominating opponents in the paint.

For the Bulls, they would be receiving a much-needed swingman in Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who still has plenty of upside at just 22 years old. He would immediately challenge Justin Holiday for a starting position, taking some of the pressure off of rookie Lauri Markkanen.

The Sixers choosing to give away Luwawu-Cabarrot gives them more lineup flexibility to play Ben Simmons at different positions and allows for Robert Covington to be more comfortable in his starting position, as he is having a career year.

Philadelphia is an intriguing destination for Mirotic because of the team’s recent success and the desire to live in another major city similar to Chicago. Mirotic should welcome this trade if he wants a solution to his current problem with the Bulls.
