3. Dallas Mavericks

The first team that could be in the market for Nikola Mirotic would be the Dallas Mavericks. Mark Cuban’s team will be in the market for a sharpshooting power forward as it appears as though Dirk Nowitzki‘s best days are behind him. Mirotic fills the role perfectly and at just 26 years of age, he could be the Mavericks’ power forward for many years to come.

From the perspective of the Chicago Bulls, it is no secret that the team is in desperate need of a guard that can score the basketball. The lesser known of the Curry brothers quietly found his rhythm last season in Dallas, averaging 12.8 points per game in 42 starts for the team. Because Seth Curry is somewhat unproven as a starter, the Mavericks would throw in a 2018 second round pick to make the deal fair.

Curry could be slotted immediately as the Bulls’ starting shooting guard, moving Justin Holiday‘s defensive energy and scoring to the bench. The Bulls would then have a savvy veteran capable of leading the team in scoring and teaching the young players about life in the NBA.

For Dallas, they would have the chance to see their young backcourt of Dennis Smith Jr. and Yogi Ferrell play together without the idea of Curry taking their minutes fogging their brains. With no income tax in Texas, Mirotic would be happy to take his talents to Dallas.
