After a brief stint with the Bulls, Dwyane Wade joined the Cavs in the offseason. He didn’t fit as a starter, but has been stellar off the bench, shooting well while averaging the second-most assists on the team. He’s averaging 9.4 points and 3.3 assists per game on 43.4 percent shooting in nine appearances off the bench.

With the squad’s current balance, he’ll continue coming off the pine. With Wade, LeBron James and Derrick Rose sharing the floor, there were too many slashers and not enough shooters.

Wade has been valuable to the team in his role as a reserve. No longer a star, he can and will continue to serve as an important bench piece moving forward.
