1. Giannis needs the help on offense

Giannis Antetokounmpo is having an incredible season, ranking among the league leaders in multiple categories and making a case to win his first MVP award. He has failed to score 28 points just once in 10 games, and twice he has hit 40. Teams are baffled at how to stop him.

Their one solution has been to double and even triple-team him. That opens up opportunities for his Milwaukee teammates to step up and create offense, but thus far this season his help has been inconsistent. Khris Middleton is averaging a career-high 19.1 points per game, but has been wildly up-and-down, scoring single digits twice already this season.

With Jabari Parker out until January at the earliest, this team needed another player capable of creating off the dribble and attacking defenses that were dialed into stopping Antetokounmpo. Eric Bledsoe is the perfect player to fill that role, with the ability to not only score in the half-court but find open shooters as well. A pick-and-roll with Antetokounmpo and Bledsoe, surrounded by three shooters, is a deadly combination.

Bledsoe is not a perfect player, but he’s incredibly talented. The “character concerns” in Phoenix shouldn’t be ignored, but they are probably indicative of a toxic situation. Bledsoe is a competitor who wants to win, and Milwaukee is the place for him to do so. Not only did the Bucks become much better this season with the deal, they paid shockingly little for the right. Bledsoe is a great fit for the Bucks, both this year and beyond.
