Overall

The Washington Wizards didn’t go undefeated on their West Coast road trip, but that’s okay. They showed plenty of other positive signs and are still 4-2 overall.

The good thing for this team has been the development of Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre Jr. They have certainly shown they’re ready to play a key role on this team as the best team in the East.

Porter averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game during the road trip for the Wizards. Oubre averaged 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game during the road trip as well.

John Wall and Bradley Beal have been their usual selves, but it’s the progress being made by their two teammates that should bring this team to bigger results this season.

Porter is shooting 51.7 percent from 3-point range through the first six games, while Oubre Jr. is shooting 44.4 percent over the same span.

The key for the Wizards is keeping them involved late in games. As stated before, Porter went without a field goal attempt in one of their road lossesm as did Oubre. If they want to win the big games, Wall will have to look to Porter and Oubre to lighten the load.
