The Washington Wizards went 2-2 on their first road trip of the season. They ended the trip with a victory, but there’s still a lot of room for improvement.

The Washington Wizards are 4-2 thus far early in the 2017-18 season. After losing two straight games to the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, they bounced back for their fourth win of the season against the Sacramento Kings, 110-83, on Sunday night.

The Wizards never trailed and led by as many as 37 points in the game. They held Sacramento to 32 points in the first half, including 27.9 percent shooting from the floor and 10 percent from 3-point range.

Washington scored the first 13 points of the game. John Wall had 11 of those points, including three 3-pointers. Wall set the tone early, something he hadn’t done in the team’s previous two losses and the rest of the team followed suit.

The Wizards made a season-high 17 3-pointers in the game, shooting 50 percent from 3-point range as a team. Wall led the way with five made 3-pointers despite playing just 26 minutes. Otto Porter Jr. went 3-for-5 from 3-point range and Kelly Oubre Jr. was 2-for-4.

Porter finished with 16 points, while Oubre Jr. had nine.

It was refreshing to see the Washington Wizards bounce back after two straight losses. The bench outscored the Kings 45-43 and shot 37.5 percent. Jodie Meeks led the bench with two made 3-pointers. Tomas Satoransky, Jason Smith, Mike Scott and Tim Frazier each made one 3-pointer.

Scott led all bench players with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field in just 15 minutes of play. It was one of his best games of the season and it came at a good time, but now let’s grade the team’s offense, defense and bench play over the recent road trip.
