The Los Angeles Clippers should make an aggressive push to acquire Eric Bledsoe from the Phoenix Suns.

Eric Bledsoe is one of the hottest names in the NBA rumor mill due to all of the recent news that has come out of Phoenix.

According to many reports, Bledsoe requested a trade before the season that was not granted to him. Now, the Phoenix Suns have sent him home as they search for a trade and Bledsoe has been open about his unhappiness on social media.

Now, the rumors have begun circulating about what teams could be landing spots for Bledsoe.

One of the teams that has been mentioned in those rumors is the Los Angeles Clippers. Bledsoe played the first three years of his career with the Clippers and had quite a bit of success. DeAndre Jordan has also taken to his Twitter account to make it known that he would like Bledsoe to “come home.”

Needless to say, the Clippers are one of the most intriguing potential destinations for Bledsoe. After having to trade Chris Paul this past offseason and seeing rookie point guard Milos Teodosic go down with a foot injury, the Clippers have a need at the point guard position.

Despite the loss of Paul, L.A. looks to be a contender in the Western Conference once again. Blake Griffin has been playing at an MVP level through the first few games of the 2017-18 season and the team did an excellent job bringing depth in around Griffin.

Now, Rivers must make an aggressive push to acquire Bledsoe, as the 27-year-old point guard would be a perfect fit at the starting point guard position.

More from LA Clippers

Through the first three games of the season with the Phoenix Suns, Bledsoe averaged 15.7 points, 3.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. Those numbers are not even close to what he is capable of averaging.

Last season with the Suns in 66 games, Bledsoe’s numbers were much more impressive. He averaged 21.1 points per game to go along with 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. Bledsoe shot 43.4 percent from the floor overall last season and knocked down 33.5 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Bledsoe is scheduled to make $14.5 million this season and has another year left on his deal worth $15 million in 2018-19. L.A. could be finding a long-term point guard option in Bledsoe if they were able to pull off a deal with the Suns.

With all of that being said, the Clippers are not going to be the only team with a high level of interest in acquiring Bledsoe. Other teams like the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks have already shown interest in trading for him as well. Phoenix will not be short on options.

Expect to see the Clippers make a run at acquiring Bledsoe over the next few days. Phoenix appears to be looking to move Bledsoe in the near future, so don’t be surprised to hear a lot of rumors pop up over the next 48 hours.

Bledsoe and the Clippers appear to be a perfect match, but only time will tell if the Clippers have enough assets to get a deal done.
