2. Giannis is a monster

Giannis is poised to become legendary to this sport in terms of his size combined with overall athleticism, speed and flexibility. His ability to do it all, everywhere other than behind the 3-point line is a danger for opponents. The Greek Freak finished his night with 37 points on 13-of-22 shooting, grabbing 13 rebounds with three assists and three steals.

The upside? It is just the first game of the season and it is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 66th career double-double. It was also the highest scoring game of his career against the Celtics.

The downside? His numbers are great, but in committing five turnovers, he and Middleton accounted for 10 of the team’s total 15 turnovers. He is averaging close to three turnovers a game for his career, which could become a worrying trend if it continues.

I wouldn’t be too concerned though. After all, he did greatly contribute to the overall W. His assist numbers have continued to improve over his career, breaking the mold of just being a priority scorer. It would be interesting to see Giannis function closer to 7-8 assists per game this season as a way to further improve another area of his game.
