3. Proven All-Star on roster

One could argue that Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins are already All-Stars, or very close to that level.

Instead of waiting for them to officially reach that status though, the Wolves went out and traded for another one. They received three-time All-Star Jimmy Butler after a trade during the 2017 NBA Draft. This trade gave the Wolves the experienced star many felt the team was lacking.

Zach LaVine, who has a very high ceiling, was traded away with other pieces, but the Wolves made a smart move by pairing Butler with two very young stars on the rise.

The Wolves will no longer lose games due to inexperience throughout the season, and Butler has an opportunity to develop into a true leader at this point in his career.
