4. Shoot 35 percent or better from 3-point range

Millsap might not be a volume 3-point shooter, nut he has shown the ability to make opposing teams pay from beyond the arc since the turn of the decade.

After taking only a total of 113 3-point attempts in his first seven seasons with the Jazz, Millsap hoisted up over 200 threes each year with Atlanta, shooting nearly 34 percent from downtown in his four seasons. This provided his former team with production on the perimeter that most did not expect to see from him prior to his arrival.

More from Denver Nuggets

While many might believe that this might have taken place as a result of the offensive system that Millsap played in under head coach Mike Budenholzer, an advocate for constant ball movement  and letting shots fly from deep, no one can deny that the 6’8″, 246-pounder has fully developed a nice outside stroke in his early 30s.

This is something that could prove to be a significant attribute to the Nuggets’ offensive attack, as Millsap’s touch from long range could serve as a vital weapon for a Denver squad that is looking to pose matchup nightmares against teams across the Western Conference.

Should Millsap find a way to shoot at least 35 percent or better from 3-point range this coming season, then it would only help to open up the floor for other knockdown shooters around him, such as Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Will Barton. Pulling defenses away to create space, the Nuggets will seek to pass the basketball around the court.

Millsap knows how to position himself quite well off the ball, and with the talent that he currently has around him, will likely receive more open shots than ever before thanks to Jokic, who can generate looks better than almost anyone in the league.
