5. Average 20 points per game

Despite being regarded as one of the game’s premier all-around talents, Millsap has never averaged at least 20 points per game or more in a single season since coming into the league.

In his final season with Atlanta, Millsap averaged a career-best 18.1 points per game, shooting 44 percent from the field. Yet, it was on the league’s biggest stage where the former Louisiana Tech star managed to show that he could emerge as a scorer for his team when called upon.

During the playoffs, Millsap averaged 24.3 points per game in the Hawks’ first round series against the Washington Wizards last season — converting on 51 percent of his shots, prior to falling in six games.

While no one in Denver should expect Millsap to lead the league in scoring, averaging 20 points per game could only serve as an added benefit to the Nuggets. The veteran forward will give the team another strong presence in the frontcourt alongside of Nikola Jokic, and with Millsap’s ability to play either inside and outside, he should be able to serve as an offensive threat and score either around the rim or on the perimeter.

Generating more opportunities for himself when he has the hot hand and taking his offensive production to the next level just might be what Millsap needs to do in order to help the Nuggets accomplish their goals in 2017-18.
