Dallas Mavericks: 5 goals for Yogi Ferrell in 2017-18
5. Continue to improve his 3-point shooting
The Mavericks got optimal shooting from behind the arc from Yogi Ferrell and they need it to continue in 2017-18. Ferrell finished the season shooting 40.3 percent from the 3-point line with Dallas through 36 appearances. This season, he’ll need to put that together across a whole season.
Ferrell is a big piece of the Dallas Mavericks’ 3-point shooting ability this season. They’ve also got shooting guards Wesley Matthews and the injured Seth Curry, along with sharpshooting forwards Dirk Nowitzki and Harrison Barnes. Paired with any of those players, Ferrell will have to prove to be a formidable force by continuing to find his shot behind the 3-point line.
Ferrell played well in the backcourt next to newly-acquired point guard Dennis Smith Jr. in NBA Summer League. The duo gave fans of glimpse of things to come, going 5-1 overall.
Yogi will look to assert himself on in the Dallas Mavericks a whole lot more in 2017-18 and he’ll do it while mentoring one of the up-and-coming stars in the NBA.
