Indiana Pacers: 5 goals for Bojan Bogdanovic in 2017-18
By Randy Porga
5. Eclipsing the league average beyond the arc
A primary reason Bojan Bogdanovic signing a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers is his ability and upside beyond the arc. He is a career 36.9 percent shooter when it comes to 3-pointers and shot for 39.1 percent during his 26 games with the Washington Wizards to close out the 2016-17 season.
With an uptick in minutes, better opportunities should arise for Bogdanovic being on the court with a starting set instead of bench players. That being said, it seems being on the outside is his comfort zone, with nearly 50 percent of his shot attempts coming from 3-point range. A sure way to see his percentage rise is finding himself in the corner, where he thrives.
For his career, 34.4 percent of his 3-point shots come from the corner and he drains a remarkable 43.1 percent of them, making this his favorite place to be. Or at least, it should be.
Per 36 minutes, we can expect Bogdanovic to reach nearly seven attempts from beyond the arc per game. If he is successful in this area, he can hope to serve as a solid replacement with the loss of C.J Miles. If he can shoot well above the league-average from deep, Indiana will be in good shape.
