1. Excel on defense

This one should be easy for Joseph, but it is arguably the most important of every goal listed so far.

Between Joe Young and Darren Collison, the Pacers have a significant lack of defensive talent at the point guard position. Thankfully, Joseph is adequate on that end of the floor.

He has a big role to fill. On important defensive possessions, head coach Nate McMillan will likely turn to Joseph to make the stop. He has the capabilities to do so. He has a career defensive rating of 107, which would have been the second-best on the team last season.

Joseph should set his sights on being a defensive stopper at point guard for the Pacers. If he can do that, he will be very impactful.
