Indiana Pacers: 5 goals for Cory Joseph in 2017-18
By Tony East
4. Cut down the turnovers
Like many of his other statistics, turnovers are something that Joseph has gotten more of every season as a pro, and he averaged 1.4 per game last season. Equally significant: His turnover percentage was 13 percent last year, and it has been close to that for most of his career.
For everything that Joseph is good at, sometimes he tries to do too much. Blake Murphy of The Athletic Toronto said on Locked On Pacers that Cory Joseph sometimes dribbles the air out of the ball, and it shows. He occasionally dribbles the ball and gets stripped by the other team or dribbles himself into a situation where he is forced to make a bad pass.
If he can cut down on one of those circumstances every game, or more, he can be even more effective and keep the Pacers’ offense flowing from the backup point guard position.
