5. Shoot 35 percent from 3-point range

Joseph did shoot 35 percent from deep last year, so it seems weird that showing no improvement would be a goal for him. However, for his career, he is just a 31.7 percent shooter from deep, and he has had three seasons under 30 percent. Shooting has been a struggle for him.

If he can keep up his shooting from last year, he will keep the Pacers’ second unit offense flowing. His three best seasons in terms of offensive rating came in his three seasons shooting over 30 percent from deep. Clearly, there is a correlation between his shooting percentage and the team’s offensive success (duh).

If he can keep up his shooting percentage from last season, or even balloon it slightly, the Pacers may end up having one of the best reserve backcourts in the league.
