Indiana Pacers: 5 goals for Cory Joseph in 2017-18
By Tony East
Cory Joseph heads to his third team in four seasons. Now with the Indiana Pacers, here are five goals for his 2017-18 NBA season.
The Indiana Pacers traded away as little as you can possibly trade to acquire Cory Joseph.
They sent away the draft rights to Emir Preldzic to acquire Joseph. Preldzic was drafted in 2009 and has never played an NBA game, so Joseph was essentially acquired for free.
Joseph comes to the Pacers as a promising player who has shown improvement every year. He has increased his scoring averages every season of his career, and the same goes for his assists in every campaign but one.
He has spent time as both a 2-guard and a point guard. In Toronto, he was very successful playing alongside Kyle Lowry, so much so that the team had him spend over 40 percent of his minutes on the wing.
He can bring that versatility to the Pacers. In a contract year, Joseph has a lot to prove so that he can get paid next summer. Let’s look at five goals CoJo should focus on for the 2017-18 NBA season.
