As we chronicled last week, Derrick Rose’s career hinges on the 2017-18 season. His success, or lack thereof, could result in an influx of millions of George Washingtons when he hits the market next summer. But his legacy is on the line as well.
A solid season cements Rose as a viable third or fourth option on any team. That’s a win considering some thought he’d struggle to find meaningful minutes after multiple leg injuries.
But a bad year buries Rose, reinforcing the notion he’s damaged goods and potentially approaching retirement.
Long gone are the days of “too big, too strong, too fast, too good” Derrick Rose. But there’s still life in the former MVP. Here’s five goals for Rose if he wants to make the upcoming season count.
