3. Joakim Noah made strides

The New York Knicks are commonly criticized for having been overzealous in their contract for Joakim Noah. Although he is on the tail-end of his career, he is out for redemption and respect coming off a very disappointing 2016-17 season.

Noah has been open about coming up short last season on numerous occasions with the media, and during this game he showed actions speak louder then words, despite it only being a preseason game.

With competition from three younger and arguably all-around better players than Noah, he certainly understands and even embraces the role that is to come of his veteran status and experience. With that being said, in just 12 minutes of playing time he certainly made the most of it. He attempted only one field goal and cashed in, while grabbing five total rebounds, two steals and one block.

He looked good on his feet and had a sense of urgency for the minutes he did have, and it showed on his hustle both ways on the court. It is likely he will not be the starter this season because of his lack of offensive skills, but he can continue to make the argument for at least 20-25 minutes per game after his 10-game suspension comes to an end.
