5. Shoot 70 percent from the free throw line

Chriss has never been expected to become a knockdown shooter, and his 181 total free throw attempts on the season only ranked 101st out of 486 NBA players. However, being in that top-fourth of the league means he was at the foul line enough to require improvement with his conversion rate.

As a rookie, Chriss shot just 62.4 percent from the foul line. He was only attempting 2.2 free throws a night, but that percentage leaves a ton of room for improvement, especially for a 20-year-old who will attempt to fill the role of stretch-big in the future.

Chriss doesn’t need to become an infallible free throw shooter anytime soon, and in an era where 3-point shooting reigns supreme and Hack-A-Shaq no longer flourishes, he doesn’t need to grow leaps and bounds in year two. But if he can pick up his free throw shooting to about 70 percent, that’s steady progress that shows this won’t be a weakness in his game down the road.
