5. Stay healthy

The Thunder do not have anything holding them back to being great. On paper, the roster has star players (Anthony, George and Westbrook) and role players like Patterson and Felton that will help the team reach its goal of contention.

The thing that can hurt a championship team is injuries. On Aug.10, the Thunder released a press release that stated Patrick Patterson underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on his left knee. They said that he will be re-evaluated 4-6 weeks later.

That is the same left knee that he strained last year on Dec. 29. With not many bodies to step up after Patterson, the Thunder will need him to be healthy and the rest of the team to stay healthy.

Patterson expects to be ready for opening day, so everything should be fine. He will be a big part of the Thunder’s offense and is a vital role player. His experience in the playoffs and big game experience will be cherished by the Thunder organization as they want to win and win big this season.
