The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to get deeper when they added Patrick Patterson in free agency. If he is able to accomplish these five things in 2017-18, he might take the Thunder to a new level.
The Oklahoma City Thunder made a splash this offseason when they were able to acquire two superstars in Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, but they made two free agency signings that will help the bench. Those signings are Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson.
Felton will help the team in the backup point guard department, which was an area of desperate need for the Thunder. Patrick Patterson was the starter at power forward, but now the Thunder will go with Carmelo at the 4 position. For Patterson, he will have to provide offense off the bench.
Patterson has a skill of defending the pick-and-roll and that will give him valuable minutes. The Thunder will want to be a complete team on both offense and defense. Having players that are both skilled on offense and defense like Patterson and Paul George gives the team balance.
Patterson’s skill of knocking down the corner 3-pointer will help the bench produce offense. The bench was one of the weaknesses of the Thunder last year, along with 3-point shooting. Patterson can help the Thunder with both of those categories.
Here are five goals that if Patterson should reach them, will help the team tremendously.
