The Sacramento Kings open training camp Tuesday for the 2017-18 season. The team had a number of interesting storylines during their Media Day Monday, in terms of both on and off-court narratives.

The Sacramento Kings enter the 2017-18 season with a new roster and a new set of questions. The team traded away its biggest-name player in DeMarcus Cousins. It selected a very different player with the fifth pick in De’Aaron Fox, and can only hope that he can be as much of a star as its departed former fifth overall pick.

While Media Day is usually on the lighter side, there were also a number of serious takeaways from the event. In terms of the basketball side of things, some important basketball news came out of the event regarding two important Kings players. In terms of non-basketball things, owner Vivek Ranadive and Garrett Temple talked briefly about one of the country’s biggest current sports controversies.

Despite some weightier news, Kings Media Day overall was an exercise in fun and excitement for the upcoming season. With that in mind, here are the five most important storylines from Kings Media Day.
