Quick Thoughts

The team will begin training camp with three new starters: point guard Darren Collison, shooting guard Victor Oladipo and small forward Bojan Bogdanovic.

The only holdovers from last season’s starting five are expected to be center Myles Turner and power forward Thaddeus Young. Turner has a chance to become the top scorer in the Pacers’ lineup, while Young’s role could decrease as the season wears on.

The second unit is also made up of several new players, with point guard Cory Joseph and power forward Domantas Sabonis leading the new contingent. Rookie T.J. Leaf will also see some minutes off the bench for the Blue and Gold.

Returnees Lance Stephenson (combo guard), Glenn Robinson III (small forward) and big man Al Jefferson will add stability when they are on the floor with their new teammates.

The primary goals for 2017-18 are to see individual progress as well as develop team chemistry. The team knows it is years away from being a true contender, so there will be a delicate balance between competing now and cultivating their young talent.
