Strength No. 1: Budding star power

The Philadelphia 76ers have created a nice combination of star power as they enter the 2017-18 season. Point guard Markelle Fultz is the latest addition to a crop of budding star power on the Philadelphia roster.

Next to Fultz, there’s Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric and their latest overseas signee, Furkan Korkmaz. The Sixers saw the emergence of Embiid and Saric last season.

Embiid won Comeback Player of the Year Award from the NBAPA after being sidelined for two seasons with a foot injury. He averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in just 25.3 minutes per game. He didn’t play the full season, but his 31 appearances were significant enough for fans to take notice.

Saric was one of the more advanced rookies to take the floor for the Sixers. He averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26.3 minutes per game. Saric came on strong after the All-Star break, averaging 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He stepped up in the absence of Joel Embiid.

Adding Fultz, Korkmaz and Simmons to the mix brings with it tons of potential for the Philadelphia 76ers.
