3. Gerald Green

Keeping with the theme of ex-Suns, Gerald Green was a fan favorite from his two-year stint with the team that included the best season of his career, unforgettable heat checks and nightly highlight reel dunks.

In 2013-14, when the 48-win Suns became one of the most successful teams in NBA history to miss the playoffs, Green posted a career-best 15.8 points in 28.4 minutes per game, shooting 40 percent from the field and serving as one of the league’s best sixth men.

Green is an electrifying player and was beloved by Suns fans in a way you don’t often see in such a short span. It looks like the Boston Celtics aren’t intent on re-signing him, and in a season centered around patience and development, expectations for the Suns’ win-loss record aren’t particularly high.

To that end, having a flawed but entertaining veteran like Green could make this season easier to digest. However, this reunion also comes with the risk of a human heat check like Green taking shots away from the younger guys.
