5. James Young

James Young is the most unproven player on this list, and after spending three years in the league unable to crack the Boston Celtics’ rotation, the Suns might prefer to roll with the more experienced Millsap or the undrafted rookie Jok.

However, at 22 years old, Young is (pun intended) younger than both Millsap and Jok. He’s only played a grand total of 89 games in his three-year career, but even if his 2.3 points in 8.4 minutes per game don’t leap off the page, his opportunities were limited while playing in a crowded backcourt for one of the most competitive teams in the Eastern Conference.

His .367/.276/.548 shooting splits are hard to look at, but perhaps a change of scenery would give this super athlete the chance he needs. The Suns have minutes available behind Booker at the 2, so if they felt like taking a chance on a young free agent, Young could be worth a flyer.
