If the New York Knicks strike a deal sometime between now and the 2018 NBA trade deadline, expect one of these three players to be involved.

Considering their current state, the New York Knicks stand a pretty good chance of making a trade in 2017-18. They’re right in the middle of a rebuild, and one of their star players is fed up with the franchise’s front office. It’s looking like more fluctuation is just around the corner for the Knicks.

So who could be on the move prior to the 2018 NBA trade deadline? It seems like there are a number of candidates to be dealt at some point this season for New York. There are also a number of players who the Knicks would love to get rid of (mainly for financial reasons), but that’s an entirely different story.

Today, we’re looking at New York players who could actually be traded in 2017-18. There may not be a ton of upside on this squad, but they will certainly try to make a deal or two as the overhaul continues. That’ll mean selling off pieces in hopes of stockpiling draft assets and young prospects.

In the end, it’ll all come down to how desperate Steve Mills and Scott Perry get. Are they willing to make a bad deal just to unload an unwanted player/contract? Is moving the aforementioned star a big enough necessity to warrant taking on another overpriced player?

All of these questions and more will be answered between now and Feb. 8. For now, though, let’s look at the three Knicks who seem most likely to be shipped out before the 2018 NBA trade deadline rolls around.
