5. Dorian Finney-Smith continues to develop on the wing

The Dallas Mavericks haven’t gone wrong when it comes to signing strong prospects. One of those prospects, Dorian Finney-Smith, was on the Summer League circuit this past July.

Finney-Smith led the Mavs’ Summer League squad in scoring in Las Vegas on the way to the semifinals of bracket play. He scored 8.0 points per game while also snagging 6.2 rebounds, dishing 2.3 assists and nabbing 1.8 steals per game.

At times, Finney-Smith becomes a forgotten player on the floor, but in Summer League, he shined. Since going undrafted in 2016, Finney-Smith has become a key piece on Dallas’ roster.

After this Summer League stint, Finney-Smith could be ready to turn a corner next season. He started in 35 of 81 games he appeared in last season as a rookie and averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game.

As the Dallas Mavericks continue to build on youth, look for Finney-Smith to blossom as a potential scoring option on the wing.
