Portland Trail Blazers: Predicting all-time starting 5 in NBA 2K18
Point Guard: Damian Lillard
At only 27 years old, Damian Lillard is already making a strong case for best Blazers point guard ever. The young man out of Weber State was the 2013 Rookie of the Year. He has also made two All-NBA teams and two All-Star appearances.
2016-17 was his best statistical season. He finished the year averaging 27.0 points (career-high), 4.9 rebounds (career-high) and 5.9 assists per game. Lillard also shot 44.4 percent from the field (career-high) and 37.0 percent from three.
Damian Lillard has been the Blazers’ floor general since his first game. He has started every game he has played — regular season and playoffs — for the Blazers. For this reason, Lillard can be found on the team’s career leaderboards in multiple categories.
Among them, he is the only Blazer to make over 1,000 three-pointers. Lillard has the second-highest free throw percentage (87.7 percent), second-most points per game (22.4) and sixth-most assists per game (6.2) in team history. He is also third among all Blazers in minutes per game (36.4) and fifth in Player Efficiency Rating (20.2).
Damian Lillard has produced a lot in five seasons, and it’s likely he is just entering his peak. Because of this, Visual Concepts will likely make him the starting point guard of the All-Time Blazers Team.
