4. Porter has 106 million reasons to prove his worth

Last year Otto Porter emerged as one of the better growing stars in the league. While he may not have the offensive firepower in the way of John Wall or Bradley Beal, he is a reliable 3 for the Wizards.

Last year he only missed two games and hit his peak minutes of his career, averaging 32.6 minutes per game. He finished the regular season shooting 51.6 percent from the field, a nearly four percent increase from the year prior.

The team may need improvement from beyond the arc, but Porter led by example. He ended the season making 43.4 percent of his long-range attempts, up nearly seven percent from the 2015-16 season.

With Porter locked into the Wizards for the long-term, he still is likely to play with a chip on his shoulder for naysayers regarding his value on the market.

The Wizards would benefit in seeing a more aggressive Porter this season. While he shoots at a high percentage, he does not take nearly as many shots as he should.

This comes as a result of being in the court with one of the best guard duos in the league. However, with Scott Brooks thinking about adjusting Beal’s role and gravitating him toward being a facilitator, it’s possible we can see a more aggressive Porter this season.
