Point Guard: Steve Nash

Honorable mentions:  Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd, Dennis Johnson

As the greatest player in franchise history and one of the best point guards to ever play the game, Steve Nash‘s spot as the Suns’ all-time starting point guard is no surprise — even with some serious competition thanks to Kevin Johnson and Jason Kidd.

Nash joins Charles Barkley as the only Suns to ever win the league MVP Award, only he did it twice. Though he could never lead his team to a championship or even a Finals appearance, his Seven Seconds or Less Suns teams were among the greatest in NBA history to never win it all.

During his 10 seasons in Phoenix, Nash averaged 14.4 points, 9.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game…all while averaging a 50-40-90 club appearance on .504/.435/.907 shooting splits.

He also made six All-Star appearances, earned five All-NBA selections, joined the 50-40-90 club in six different seasons and ranks first in franchise history in assists, made 3-pointers, 3-point percentage, free throw percentage and offensive win shares.

The best part is Nash was an MVP off the court and in the community, always representing himself, his team and the entire nation of Canada with the utmost class. Since Phoenix’s all-time team could use some perimeter shooting and playmaking as well, Nash is a no-brainer here, leaving K.J. and Kidd to back him up off the bench.
