Michael Beasley: 1 year, $2.1 million (New York Knicks)

It hasn’t been the offseason New York Knicks fans were hoping for, but with a rebuild underway, signing Michael Beasley to a one-year deal for the the minimum isn’t a terrible move.

Is he a quality mentor for Kristaps Porzingis and Frank Ntilikina? Probably not. But at the very least, he provides an extra body on the wing in the event the Knicks are finally able to trade Carmelo Anthony to the Houston Rockets in a deal that’s been described as “only a matter of time” for quite some time now.

Last season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Beasley averaged 9.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in only 16 minutes per game. This is merely a way to pass the time, but as long as he’s not a detriment to the younger guys, it’s defendable at least.
