It would be an overstatement to say Phil Jackson failed at every thing he did for the New York Knicks. Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez were nice draft additions and Ron Baker became a smart summer signing last year.
However, the Phil Jackson reign of terror in New York is something that needs to be forgotten and redacted. From the mistreatment of Carmelo Anthony to his obsession with the triangle, some things are better off forgotten.
Local and national media had continuous content for comedy thanks to the failures of Phil Jackson. The Knicks remained an NBA punchline instead of the respected franchise fans expect it to be. Thankfully, James Dolan cut the cord on the Phil experiment before any more damage was done.

Even though the Knicks had a team president by title, they didn’t have a leader they could name. From the top down, this team needs positive direction from an established leader they can trust.
