4.  Tony Allen, SF

It will be a decade since Tony Allen tasted championship champagne with a historic 2008 Boston Celtics team.  Allen has gone from one of the young players on a team to a respected veteran. He is known as the “Grindfather” for his energy, hustle, and passion out on the basketball court. Allen has also been a member of the NBA All-Defensive first or second team in all of the previous six seasons.

Last year, Allen was able to remain relatively healthy and he was able to post a career-high in rebounds (5.5 per game) while also averaging the third most points of his career (9.1 per game).

The Golden State Warriors would benefit tremendously from his ability to guard opposing wing players. Allen’s offensive game is rather limited and he is prone to turnovers. However, he makes up for those shortcomings with effort and determination. He has three-point range, drives and cuts well, and is a skilled finisher at the rim.

Tony Allen would potentially be able to learn from and collaborate with fellow defensive specialist Andre Iguodala. Together, the two of them would add even more weapons to their defensive arsenals. Allen brings a tireless work ethic as well as championship experience. He would be especially valuable if Iguodala decides to unexpectedly leave the Warriors in free agency.
