5. Nikola Mirotic, SF/PF, Chicago Bulls

Signing Nikola Mirotic may not sound like an attractive option, but the 26-year-old forward would be a nice piece for the future. At this point with free agency closing in, Mirotic is expected to receive quite a bit of interest on the open market.

Los Angeles would improve its shooting in a big way by signing Mirotic. Shooting is a major key in today’s NBA and would help attract free agents like George or potentially LeBron James next offseason. He isn’t a star, but his ability to score has been noticed in Chicago.

Consistency is the only issue that Mirotic has struggled with on the offensive side of the ball. He is also a liability on the defensive end of the floor.

Despite the negatives that surround him, Mirotic would be a solid addition for the Lakers. Unfortunately, his status as a restricted free agent means Los Angeles might have to spend too much to pry him away from the Bulls, which would bog down the team’s cap space for its star-studded plans in the future.
