Top Four Point Guards

  1. John Wall ($9,600) vs. Miami Heat
  2. Chris Paul ($9,500) vs. Portland Trail Blazers
  3. Deron Williams ($6,200) vs. Denver Nuggets
  4. Darren Collison ($5,500) vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Rationale:

  • No player in history had ever previously done what Chris Paul accomplished Saturday night against New Orleans. Not only did the nine-time All-Star record 20 assists, the most of any player this season, he became the first player to accompany the total with 20 points and zero turnovers. The last time a player dished out 20 assists with no turnovers came in 1984, when Jazz guard Rickey Green accomplished the feat during a win over the Hawks.
  • Nearly everything in Dallas runs through Deron Williams. The 6-foot-4 guard ranks seventh in the league with an average of 62.5 passes made each game, resulting in 6.5 assists a night. Williams has managed to involve several teammates in the offense, with Harrison Barnes, Wesley Matthews and Dwight Powell all serving as recipients for more than one assist a night from his passes.
