The New York Knicks were active during the offseason. Will these changes result in their first postseason appearance since 2013?

To say that the New York Knicks have not excelled during Phil Jackson‘s first two years as team president would be an understatement.
In Year 1, the Knicks finished with an abysmal 17-65 record, which was the worst mark in the Eastern Conference.
In Year 2, the Knicks nearly doubled their win total, compiling a 32-50 record. Despite the 15-win jump, though, the Knicks failed to reach the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
To help right the floundering ship, the Knicks were very active during the offseason. For starters, they executed a five-player trade that brought over Derrick Rose and Justin Holiday from the Chicago Bulls..
Along with that, the Knicks also acquired former Bull Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings. Those additions, along with the hiring of Jeff Hornacek, give the fan base a few potential reasons to be excited.
DRose, Porzingis, Melo - for the first time in a long time, I can understand the optimism of my Knicks-fan friends.

In spite of the optimism, will these changes be enough to help the Knicks make the playoffs?
Today we will explore the answer to that question, along with a few other noteworthy predictions for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
