1. Three-Point Shooting

The Milwaukee Bucks were dead last in three-point makes last season. The lack of spacing throughout the season made it incredibly difficult for the team to operate or run modern sets.

Khris Middleton was often the only three-point threat as Michael Carter-Williams, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe lacked consistent three-point shooting.

If Parker or Antetokounmpo add a three-point shot this summer, it would make a dramatic difference for the Bucks. But even if that does not occur, the summer addition of Matthew Dellavedova should make a big difference.

Dellavedova is a 39.8 percent shooter from behind the arc for his career. He excels as a spot-up shooter in a role as a secondary ball-handler. This situation is ideal for both he and the Bucks, as they found magic last season with Antetokoumpo initiating the offense.

Stretch 4 Mirza Teletovic, as well as sharpshooter Jason Terry, can also make a difference for the Bucks off the bench. But the team would be wise to start Dellavedova on the wing with Antetokoumpo and Middleton to give the team legitimate drive-and-kick threats.

Teletovic can be utilized as a stretch 4, likely next to John Henson to cover for his defensive deficiencies. Terry is an interesting piece because he has the ability to initiate offense in addition to his abilities as a shooter.

It’s possible that the Bucks use him at times as the “point guard” with Antetokounmpo truly initiating the play.

Regardless of what direction the Bucks choose to go, what is clear is that the team has many options and that the roster is a versatile one. Having depth and being able to throw many different looks at the opposition is key in today’s NBA.

It’s a luxury they didn’t have last season, but should help improve from a weak offensive output last season.
