Oct. 27 2016: Bulls vs. Boston Celtics

Opening night is usually one of the more memorable dates of the season…until the playoffs roll around that is.

For Bulls fans, it will be a chance to see how Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo will mesh with two-time All-Star Jimmy Butler against a formidable Boston Celtics team that won last year’s season series 2-1 and is expected to compete for one of the top four spots in the conference.

Much has been discussed about the team’s lack of long-distance shooting in the starting five. But despite the glaring trend, Wade remains confident the Bulls will find a way to get it done.

From Chicago Sun-Times’ Joe Cowley.

"“What I’m going to do is, I’m going to play my game,” Wade said. “I’m going to play my game within obviously what the system is, what the team needs from me, and at the end of the day, the last time I checked, the ball has to go through the basket, and I’ve been pretty successful putting it through the basket. “Jimmy has been pretty successful and is going to be even more successful, and Rondo is going to make sure that he knows how to get everybody the ball to put into the basket. Our job is to play to our strengths; to work on our weaknesses, as well. We know how teams may try and defend us, but let’s not go away from what got us here. So we’re going to continue to be who we are.’’"

That being said, will Chicago’s newly-formed trio exceed expectations and find a way to get it done on opening night or will the offensive struggles that plagued the team last year continue?
