Honorable Mention

Vanessa Macias

Few years back, Barkley called San Antonio “a gold mine for Weight Watchers” while speaking about the women in the city. During a funny segment on TNT’s Inside the NBA, he added that “they (the women of San Antonio) can’t wear Victoria’s Secret (women’s lingerie) down there.”

Macias, Tim Duncan’s girlfriend, and several other women sported T-shirts that read “Barkley don’t know” during a Spurs home game.

Gabrielle Union

Last year, Barkley felt that the aging Dwayne Wade didn’t warrant a spot in the All-Star game. Kenny Smith, Barkley’s Inside the NBA college, justified Wade’s selection, suggesting that All-Star weekend is an exhibition game and empowers fans to choose the players they wish to see.

Gabrielle Union, Wade’s wife, took shots at Barkley via Twitter:

Barkley fired back on TNT, ripping Union’s acting skills before suggesting that she should have starred in 1996 flick “Snakes On A Plane” or one of the “Madea Simmons” movies.

Allen Iverson

Barkley was critical of A.I throughout the guard’s storied career. In 1999, Barkley, during his penultimate year as a player, said of Iverson: “I can’t stand that guy.”

Many years later, Barkley wasn’t impressed with Iverson’s 51-point effort as a member of the Denver Nuggets. Iverson, the quintessential ISO scorer, never won Barkley’s respect.

Barkley always maintained that Iverson wasn’t the model team player and failed to involve his teammates in the offense. A few years back, he brought up Iverson while discussing the idea of athletes not being “black enough”. Barkley felt Iverson spent lavishly because of “bad people around him.”
